Professor Don Paterson published a new collection of poems, Zonal (Faber). The poems in the book are partly inspired by the first season of The Twilight Zone, a premise which, as Kate Kellaway wrote in The Guardian, ‘sounds barmy at first’. But reviewers have found it to be ‘as intelligent as it is affecting’ (The Scotsman), ‘never less than diabolically clever, and, on occasions, very moving’ (Literary Review).
